An ammeter can enter into different types of railway circuits and communicate the result to a safety system (e.g. an interlocking system, a line block or a level crossing):
· Measuring of current in signalling lamps and point motor circuits
· Fault detection system
· Measuring currents in relay systems at interfaces between relay and electronic systems.
